What data we collect
Very little, by design. The app does not require an account. If you never sign in with Google, we do not operate any server that stores your training data at all. Signing in with Google is optional and only changes what's described below for the account you sign in with.
- Your training data (videos, techniques, notes, drilling plans, photos you attach) is stored locally on your own device, in your browser's storage, unless you choose to sign in with Google (see below). It is never sent to us and we cannot see it.
- If you sign in with Google, the app backs your training data up automatically to a private, hidden folder inside your own Google Drive, so you can pick it up on another device by signing into the same account there. This data goes directly from your device to your own Google Drive — it is never stored on our servers, and we cannot see it. It is governed by your own Google account and Google's own privacy policy, and you can remove it at any time by disconnecting the app's access in your Google account settings.
- If you sign in with Google, we also verify your email address (via Google, so we can trust it's really yours) against a small list we keep of which email addresses have paid for the full version, so it can unlock automatically on any device you sign into. This list — just an email address and a paid/not‑paid status, nothing else — is the one piece of personal data we do store ourselves, hosted on Google Cloud's Firebase platform, which processes it on our behalf as our data processor, under its own data processing terms. This may mean the data is held on servers outside the UK; where that's the case, Google's standard contractual clauses — a recognised safeguard under UK data protection law — apply to that transfer. We keep it for as long as you might reasonably want the full version to keep unlocking for that email, and delete it on request — contact support@collarchokeswithnotes.com.
- Payment information, if you buy the full version, is collected and processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor and merchant of record — we never see or store your card details. Lemon Squeezy will process your email address and payment details under their own privacy policy in order to complete the purchase, and passes us your email so we can add it to the paid list described above.
- Basic, anonymous usage counts — how many times the app is opened, and whether it was opened from a home-screen icon or a browser tab — are recorded using GoatCounter, a privacy-focused analytics tool. Per its own privacy policy, it does not use cookies and does not store your IP address, full device/browser identifier, or any tracker ID at all — so this data cannot be connected to you personally or to your training data. If you'd rather your own visits weren't counted at all, contact support@collarchokeswithnotes.com and we'll help you turn that off.
What we don't do
- Unless you sign in with Google, we don't store any personal information about you at all, and we don't run any server or database that touches your data — there's nothing of yours sitting on our systems to lose, leak, or be asked for.
- Even if you do sign in, your actual training data (videos, notes, plans) is never stored on our servers — it goes straight to your own Google Drive. The only thing we ever store ourselves is the small paid-email list described above.
- We don't use cookies, and we don't track you across other websites or apps.
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties.
- We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
If you haven't signed in with Google, your training data lives only on your own device, and you're always in control of it — you can delete it at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it, and you can export a copy at any time using the app's built-in Backup feature. If you have signed in, your training data lives in your own Google Drive under your own control, and the one thing we hold ourselves (your email, on the paid list) can be deleted on request — contact support@collarchokeswithnotes.com. For data held by Google (your Drive, your account) see Google's own privacy policy; for data held by Lemon Squeezy (your purchase record), see Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.

Terms & Conditions
Using the app
Collar Chokes with Notes is provided to help you log and organize your BJJ training. The free version is free to use indefinitely. The full version unlocks additional features (currently Drilling Plans and Game Map) for a one-time payment of £9.99, made through Lemon Squeezy. Using the full version requires signing in with a Google Account (any email address works, not just @gmail.com) — that's what the app checks your purchase against to unlock it, rather than a license key.
Your license
When you purchase the full version, you're buying a personal license to use the unlocked features — not the underlying software itself. It's for your own personal use; please don't share access to it. Unlocking works by signing in with Google using the email address you checked out with — there's no license key and no limit on how many of your own devices you can sign into.
Data storage & your responsibility to back up
Please read this carefully. Unless you sign in with Google, the App stores your data locally on your device only, and we are not responsible for any loss of data resulting from device failure, app deletion, browser data clearing, operating system updates, or similar events — you are responsible for regularly backing it up using the App's built-in Backup/export feature. Signing in with Google backs your data up automatically to your own Google Drive, which reduces this risk considerably, but we still can't guarantee against every possible failure (including on Google's side, or your own Google account being lost or restricted) — the built-in Backup/export feature remains available as an extra safeguard either way.
Refunds
Refund requests for the full version are handled through Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor, in line with their standard refund process. If you're not happy with your purchase, contact support@collarchokeswithnotes.com or Lemon Squeezy directly.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep it working correctly and fix issues promptly, but we can't guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including — as set out above — loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded, such as liability for fraud.
Changes to the app
We may update, change, or discontinue features of the app at any time. We'll aim to keep the core functionality you've paid for working, but the app may evolve over time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you're purchasing as a consumer in the UK or EU, you retain any statutory rights that can't be excluded by these terms.
